Bhaskar Raju, MD, Child, Adolescent, Adult Psychiatrist, Medical Director

Dr. Bhaskar N. Raju started his private practice at Orlando Psychiatric Associates Inc. in 2005. He completed his medical degree at S.V. University in India. He completed his residency training in Psychiatry at the University of Minnesota Hennepin-Regions Medical Center program in 2002. He subsequently completed his fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Hospital in 2004 and started his practice in Orlando, FL, a few months later.

Dr. Raju's special interests include the care and treatment of ADHD, Learning Disorders, Autism, Bipolar disorder, Depression, Stress, marital dysfunctions, substance abuse, and anxiety disorders as well as schizophrenia. Orlando Psychiatric Associates Inc. provides comprehensive mental health services that include not only medication management but therapies and counseling including behavioral therapy, child, couples and family counseling, substance abuse therapy, etc.

Robert J.Fennewald-Velez, M.S., L.M.H.C. Bilingual: Spanish and English.

Robert J.Fennewald-Velez M.S., L.M.H.C. Completed his undergraduate studies at the Univercity of Puerto Rico, Recinto Universitario de Mayaguez and his masters degree in Mentel Health counseling at southern lllionois University. Robert has successfully treated children , adolescents, adults and families for over twenty years. Robert has vast experience in treating depressive disorders, bipolar disorders, anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, oppositional defiant disorders, phychotic desorders, domestic violence and anger management. He is (EMDR) Eye movement desensitization trained. His treatment modalities range from: Rational Emotive Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, behavior modification, play therapy and other theoretical models of intervention. He has managed public private treatment facilities supervising the clinical staff. He has taught college courses in psychology. Robert is bilingual in English and Spanish.

 

Sara Benitez, LMHC. Bilingual: Spanish and English.

Sara Benitez graduated from the University of Northridge in California, with a Master's of Science in Counseling Psychology. She has over 15 years of experience in her field.

Sara offers marriage counseling, couples counseling, and individual therapy to those who can't do it on their own and need some professional help. She also provides behavioral therapy and anger management for children and adolescents. She offers encouragement and support to individuals and couples living in an authentic lifestyle, and helps them find an inner sense of clarity, hope, and insight for the difficult areas in their lives. She provides tools to help people cope and gain inner growth. Some of the issues she addresses in therapy are overcoming negative thoughts, improving common relationships, becoming more decisive, finding balance between work and family, and overcoming anxiety. Sara uses a variety of techniques or interventions, which depend on her patients' cognitive/behavioral and family systems orientations.

Alice R. Porterfield, Certified Mental Health Professional.

Alice R. Porterfield earned her Mental Health Professional certification from the Florida Certification Board in 2007. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Troy University in Alabama. She completed her Master of Science (MS) degree in Counseling and Human Development, also from Troy University. In addition to her MS, she completed the addictions concentration to qualify her to provide counseling for those struggling with addictions. Alice is currently pursuing certification in play therapy, and she is working on becoming certified to be an addictions professional. Alice shares her experience, strength, and hope with clients on a daily basis.

Alice focuses on substance abuse (alcohol/drugs), marriage and family counseling, anger management, grief therapy, and parenting. She works with difficult diagnoses, such as, selective mutism, Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorders, trichotillomania, pica, sexual dysfunction, sleep disorders, and adjustment issues. Alice often attends school meetings with clients in order to further assist their growth and positive development

Patrick Welch, Ed.S., Certified Mental Health Professional, Registered MH Counselor Intern.

Patrick Welch graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology. He then went on to the University of Kentucky to earn a Master's of Science degree in Education, specializing in Counseling Psychology. After that, he received his Specialist in Education degree in Counseling Psychology. Patrick has been extensively trained in testing and assessment. He specializes in cognitive-behavioral therapy, which focuses on changing the client's thoughts to improve his/her mood and feelings. He is currently being trained in solution-focused therapy, which focuses on finding solutions that have worked in the past and will work in the present and future. Patrick is comfortable working with people of all ages: children, adolescents, and adults.
