Miladys N. Rivera, PhD
Dr. Miladys N. Rivera is a Florida Licensed Clinical Psychologist who is passionate about human behavior and mental health. She has a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Carlos Albizu University, San Juan, Puerto Rico. She completed a Post-Doctoral Master’s Degree of Sciences in Clinical Research, from the School of Medicine, Medical Sciences Campus, San Juan, Puerto Rico, as part of a multidisciplinary cohort of health professionals sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Dr. Rivera’s experience encompasses the clinical, research, and academic contexts. Dr. Rivera has also served in a supervisory role to psychology interns and residents.
Dr. Rivera believes in change and is passionate about being a facilitator in the therapeutic process, and to guide people to see themselves as active agents in their circumstances. Dr. Rivera’s experience includes the evaluation and/or treatment of conditions, such as attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, autism, mood disorders, learning disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, developmental delays, among others. She also performs pre-surgical assessments for bariatric patients and for chronic pain patients considered for pain management devices. Dr. Rivera enjoys engaging with the patient while performing a comprehensive interview that, as part of the evaluation process is instrumental in arriving to an accurate diagnosis. Dr. Rivera’s drive for people has been a motor to her engagement in research about health disparities, to participate in missionary trips, and to engage in voluntary work. In her leisure time, Dr. Rivera likes reading, spending time with family and friends, and running. Dr. Rivera is fluent in English and Spanish.
