Miriam Ormsby, RCSWI
Miriam Ormsby is a Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern and is certified with Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) training and is a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional. Specializing in trauma, grief, anxiety, abuse, perinatal issues, parenting, geriatric, divorce, war trauma, and other life issues, Miriam has worked with children, adults, and couples as individuals and/or in groups, in office and in hospital settings. Some other populations she’s worked with include new mothers, military, Big Brothers Big Sisters program, and has experience as a Therapeutic Recreational Director for special needs and the elderly. She has been counseling since 1998. Miriam is a member of the UCF Women's Club providing assistance and scholarships to new and upcoming student professionals. Other specializations include Physical, Sexual, and/or Emotional Abuse and Neglect, and uses individual Strengths Perspective, as well as EMDR, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Psychodynamic Theory.
